After service as an Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Campaign, Eliot Chartrand began his career in the financial services industry, first as an investment services advisor to New England-area savings banks. He relocated to Western Massachusetts in 1977 when he became the President of Chicopee Savings Bank in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
In 1984, Eliot opened Charter Home Mortgage, one of the first independent mortgage brokers in Western Massachusetts. The company operated for 24 years as a licensed mortgage brokerage, offering a full range of mortgage products to residential mortgage customers. Eliot has continued his work as a Mortgage Loan Originator, working with homebuyers to provide residential mortgage products.
Eliot is a graduate of the University of Vermont. He has been an active volunteer with Credit for Life, a financial literacy program for high school students in Greater Springfield.
